Scolding is their Super-Strength. Micro-aggressions are their Kryptonite. Marvel has created some of the most iconic superhero characters the world has ever seen... until now! Marvel Comics says they’re trying to appeal to the super-woke with the introduction of two new characters to dox and defend the planet. Fans were horrified and it didn't take long for nonbinary Snowflake and Safespace to be CANCELED! Then came The CW's live-action Powerpuff Girls series. Until the Pilot script and set photos were leaked to Twitter. The script was a “over woke” embarrassment! The outfits looked like cheap Halloween costumes which confirmed our worst fears, this is gonna be a shitshow! It has forced The CW to rewrite and re-shoot the entire show. The latest horrific attempt is a LGBTQ+ cringe worthy show called Q-Force by Netflix. The release of the trailer provoked widespread mockery primarily by the gay community joking that watching the Q-force trailer made them wanna go straight! This new wave of woke Superheros has been an epic fail. Stop messing with our Superheros!
The next iteration of Batman is on the way, reinventing the caped crusader for a new generation of fans, setting up a continuity independent of the mainline DC Extended Universe. However, production has not been easy on this latest outing, taking place right in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, causing some serious headaches on set. As of March 2020, the filming had been halted. Fortunately, work on The Batman was able to resume in September 2020, after Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden MP announced that major productions would be able to film in England as long as they operate in a tightly controlled “bubble”. The Batman had been due for release on 25th June 2021 in both the UK and USA, but has now been pushed back until 4th March 2022.
Dave Prowse, the Bristolian former bodybuilder best known for playing Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, has died at the aged of 85. Prowse was cast as Vader for his imposing physique, even though the role was voiced by James Earl Jones. Prowse was asked to audition for the roles of Darth Vader and Chewbacca but he said he chose Luke Skywalker's father because ''you always remember the bad guys." Spotted by director George Lucas in the 1971 film Clockwork Orange, in which he played a bodyguard, Prowse was invited to audition for the roles of Darth Vader and Chewbacca in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
World War II couldn’t do it. 9/11 couldn't do it. Now, for the first time in the history of the medium, monthly comics are grinding to a halt due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The American comic book industry has been on hiatus since late March when Diamond Comic Distributors, announced it would temporarily suspend shipment of new product to comic book shops across the country as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. Many comics shops have been forced to temporarily close their doors to comply with shelter-in-place decrees, and overall publishers, distributors and the motion picture industry will reduce, or altogether, stop their production lines through July 30th, 2020.
